Most of us dont get hurt, but the beauty of the tattoo and the pride that comes with wearing it far outweighs the pin stick here and there.How about using some kind of anesthetic cream? Such products are really not recommended.

  • How Much Is It Going to Cost?

    When it comes to tattoos, you get what you pay for. Yes, there are many people who get tattoos for a very small fee. But look for quality and be prepared to pay for it. Never bargain over the price of a tattoo. This is disrespectful to the artist. Think of it this way: its a work of art that youll wear for the rest of your life.

  • Should I Tip My Tattoo Artist?

    Tipping is a very nice gesture. But there are no real hard and fast rules for tipping.

  • What Should I Get? And Where?

    Its all a matter of personal taste. You can get whatever you want and whatever your artist is willing to do. You can choose a painting from the wall or have them create a custom piece just for you. The only limit is your own imagination. As for where you should do it, just keep in mind what you do at work and what social circle you are in. You may want to place your tattoo somewhere where it can be easily hidden by regular clothing.

  • What Is the Best Time of Year to Get a Tattoo?

    While you can get a tattoo at any time of the year, your skin is much more exposed in the summer due to swimming, sunbathing, and just more exposure to the elements. Winter time is really the best time for a tattoo.

  • Is It OK to Get a Tattoo if Im Sick?

    Getting a tattoo when your immune system isnt at 100% isnt the best idea. Youll need your strength and white blood cells to heal the tattoo, and your body wont be able to do that if its already fighting viruses and bacteria. Not to mention, its very imprudent to bring your disease into a tattoo studio and risk passing germs on to others, especially your artist. If you have an appointment, call and reschedule until you feel well again.

  • Where Can I Find Pictures of Tattoos?

    If youre getting a tattoo, especially as an expression of your personality, why would you want the same tattoo as someone else? Instead, find other images of what youre looking for and let your artist draw a custom design for you. Example: If you want to get a tattoo of a penguin standing on a glacier, find real photos of penguins and glaciers. If you want a blue rose tattoo wrapped around a cross, find images of real roses and crosses that you like. If the images dont show exactly what you want, just take them to your artist to use as a guide and tell them what changes you want to make to the original images. A true artist will gladly accept the challenge of creating an individual work.

First, Tera was the sweetest person on the phone, first time inquiring about a tattoo in Tucson and she thoroughly explained to me how to make an appointment and which artist would be the best at my tattoo type requested. I messaged Colin and he got back to me right away with a next day for my daughter and I. Next day, Tera let us in and was sooooo kind and made us both feel so welcomed. She joined and laughed with us and made our wait time feel like nothing at all. Colin got our designed done really fast and it was perfect! Got my daughter in first and was very quick and proficient and the line work was superb as well as mine! I was extremely satisfied and cannot wait to go back to see Colin for another tattoo and Tera for her professionalism with customer service!

Had two tattoos done here was very happy at first but once healed I noticed a bunch of mistakes. My simple kids drawings and the artist didn't even stay inside the lines. I gave 3 stars just cause she didn't get the chance to fix them. The sad thing is her portfolio is awesome so i think bringing her a simple tattoo and it coming out the way it did was cause she just rushed the heck out of it and that is why it looks nothing like what's in her portfolio :( not smooth lines, not smooth shading, and not inside the lines. Very disappointing. And I searched through many artists and picked her cause her portfolio.

I love my tattoo. The shop was neat and orderly, smelled clean, and everyone there seemed passionate and knowledgable. Overall very pleasant and smooth experience. 10/10, would definitely come back.

When I went for my first session, the shop was clean, the vibe was peaceful, and all the staff were professional. Tattoos are more about the artist than the place, but I'd definitely take a look at Julia and the other artists at Black Rose.

This review is for Honeycomb Jewelry and Piercing (inside of Black Rose Tattoo) specifically. I got my bridge pierced here and it was by far the best piercing experience I've had in Tucson! My piercer, Newt, was great. He took extra care to make sure my piercing would be perfectly centered and straight, and was so kind, gentle, and informative throughout the whole process. He was very thorough in explaining aftercare as well. The shop is clean, and they have a great jewelry selection. Today I had my second lobes pierced at another shop and about 3 hours later realized they were irritating and not comfortable for my ears )): Walked into Honeycomb Jewelry & Piercing (inside Black Rose Tattooer) on 4th Ave and was helped by the very kind Amri who took the time to explain the different jewelry, and sizing on my fresh pierced ears. She changed my ear piercing to the new selection— and she was gentle, sweet, and prompt! Also she helped explain the aftercare process for healing. I thought the atmosphere was great! Everyone was extremely nice. I went in to get a tattoo and piercing... ended up changing my mind on which tattoo I was getting and Harry was great and understanding. I was going to get my tongue pierced but was told it wouldn't work in the center so he gave me other options and was so great about making it an enjoyable experience because I was pretty nervous. Really loved everyone in the shop and I would definitely be making it my regular shop if I lived here. Wish I could take them back to Wyoming!

Really loved everyone in the shop and I would definitely be making it my regular shop if I lived here. Wish I could take them back to Wyoming!

My piercer, Newt, was great. He took extra care to make sure my piercing would be perfectly centered and straight, and was so kind, gentle, and informative throughout the whole process. He was very thorough in explaining aftercare as well. The shop is clean, and they have a great jewelry selection. She changed my ear piercing to the new selection— and she was gentle, sweet, and prompt! Also she helped explain the aftercare process for healing. First, Tera was the sweetest person on the phone, first time inquiring about a tattoo in Tucson and she thoroughly explained to me how to make an appointment and which artist would be the best at my tattoo type requested. I messaged Colin and he got back to me right away with a next day for my daughter and I. Next day, Tera let us in and was sooooo kind and made us both feel so welcomed. She joined and laughed with us and made our wait time feel like nothing at all. Colin got our designed done really fast and it was perfect! Got my daughter in first and was very quick and proficient and the line work was superb as well as mine! I was extremely satisfied and cannot wait to go back to see Colin for another tattoo and Tera for her professionalism with customer service!

Had two tattoos done here was very happy at first but once healed I noticed a bunch of mistakes. My simple kids drawings and the artist didn't even stay inside the lines. I gave 3 stars just cause she didn't get the chance to fix them. The sad thing is her portfolio is awesome so i think bringing her a simple tattoo and it coming out the way it did was cause she just rushed the heck out of it and that is why it looks nothing like what's in her portfolio :( not smooth lines, not smooth shading, and not inside the lines. Very disappointing. And I searched through many artists and picked her cause her portfolio.

When I went for my first session, the shop was clean, the vibe was peaceful, and all the staff were professional. Tattoos are more about the artist than the place, but I'd definitely take a look at Julia and the other artists at Black Rose.

Piercing Review: Absolutely phenomenal! I found Black Rose online and came in to get my conch pierced at a large gauge during the Winter of 2013. Theo did it for me, and although I was beyond nervous, he made me feel comfortable and at ease. He was very informative and thorough. The shop is really clean and he talked me through the procedure and made sure I was happy with everything. I loved the experience. My BF also got an eyebrow and a conch piercing done with Theo and they look amazing. The placement is perfect. We love all our new mods. First, Tera was the sweetest person on the phone, first time inquiring about a tattoo in Tucson and she thoroughly explained to me how to make an appointment and which artist would be the best at my tattoo type requested. I messaged Colin and he got back to me right away with a next day for my daughter and I. Next day, Tera let us in and was sooooo kind and made us both feel so welcomed. She joined and laughed with us and made our wait time feel like nothing at all. Colin got our designed done really fast and it was perfect! Got my daughter in first and was very quick and proficient and the line work was superb as well as mine! I was extremely satisfied and cannot wait to go back to see Colin for another tattoo and Tera for her professionalism with customer service!

Had two tattoos done here was very happy at first but once healed I noticed a bunch of mistakes. My simple kids drawings and the artist didn't even stay inside the lines. I gave 3 stars just cause she didn't get the chance to fix them. The sad thing is her portfolio is awesome so i think bringing her a simple tattoo and it coming out the way it did was cause she just rushed the heck out of it and that is why it looks nothing like what's in her portfolio :( not smooth lines, not smooth shading, and not inside the lines. Very disappointing. And I searched through many artists and picked her cause her portfolio.

I love my tattoo. The shop was neat and orderly, smelled clean, and everyone there seemed passionate and knowledgable. Overall very pleasant and smooth experience. 10/10, would definitely come back.

Piercing Review: Absolutely phenomenal! I found Black Rose online and came in to get my conch pierced at a large gauge during the Winter of 2013. Theo did it for me, and although I was beyond nervous, he made me feel comfortable and at ease. He was very informative and thorough. The shop is really clean and he talked me through the procedure and made sure I was happy with everything. I loved the experience. My BF also got an eyebrow and a conch piercing done with Theo and they look amazing. The placement is perfect. We love all our new mods. I kind of wish I still lived in Tucson so I can get more work by him! Maybe next time I'm in town for a visit. Love this place. Thanks, Theo. : )

When I went for my first session, the shop was clean, the vibe was peaceful, and all the staff were professional. Tattoos are more about the artist than the place, but I'd definitely take a look at Julia and the other artists at Black Rose.

The shop staff are jolly souls who made me feel at home- they are something hard to find today- honestly nice unpretentious people. Think kitchen table. Think barber shop. Danny is a master; this was tattoo #7 for me and his talent and suggestions helped to pull off,with glorious results, ink with the finest lines I've seen in my experience and colors that would make Van Gogh go crazy again. She changed my ear piercing to the new selection— and she was gentle, sweet, and prompt! Also she helped explain the aftercare process for healing. I went in to get a tattoo and piercing... ended up changing my mind on which tattoo I was getting and Harry was great and understanding. I was going to get my tongue pierced but was told it wouldn't work in the center so he gave me other options and was so great about making it an enjoyable experience because I was pretty nervous. Really loved everyone in the shop and I would definitely be making it my regular shop if I lived here. Wish I could take them back to Wyoming!

The shop staff are jolly souls who made me feel at home- they are something hard to find today- honestly nice unpretentious people. Think kitchen table. Think barber shop. Danny is a master; this was tattoo #7 for me and his talent and suggestions helped to pull off,with glorious results, ink with the finest lines I've seen in my experience and colors that would make Van Gogh go crazy again. The rest of the staff were great to.I felt comfortable, and Sharon has an extremely light hand, pays a tremendous amount of attention to detail... And she's not painful to the eyes either. My piercer, Newt, was great. He took extra care to make sure my piercing would be perfectly centered and straight, and was so kind, gentle, and informative throughout the whole process. He was very thorough in explaining aftercare as well. The shop is clean, and they have a great jewelry selection. I could not be happier with my bridge and will definitely be returning and recommending this shop to everyone! Thank you so much Newt and the rest of the crew at Honeycomb. :)

Today I had my second lobes pierced at another shop and about 3 hours later realized they were irritating and not comfortable for my ears )): Walked into Honeycomb Jewelry & Piercing (inside Black Rose Tattooer) on 4th Ave and was helped by the very kind Amri who took the time to explain the different jewelry, and sizing on my fresh pierced ears. She changed my ear piercing to the new selection— and she was gentle, sweet, and prompt! Also she helped explain the aftercare process for healing. I went in to get a tattoo and piercing... ended up changing my mind on which tattoo I was getting and Harry was great and understanding. I was going to get my tongue pierced but was told it wouldn't work in the center so he gave me other options and was so great about making it an enjoyable experience because I was pretty nervous. Really loved everyone in the shop and I would definitely be making it my regular shop if I lived here. Wish I could take them back to Wyoming!

First, Tera was the sweetest person on the phone, first time inquiring about a tattoo in Tucson and she thoroughly explained to me how to make an appointment and which artist would be the best at my tattoo type requested. I messaged Colin and he got back to me right away with a next day for my daughter and I. Next day, Tera let us in and was sooooo kind and made us both feel so welcomed. She joined and laughed with us and made our wait time feel like nothing at all. Colin got our designed done really fast and it was perfect! Got my daughter in first and was very quick and proficient and the line work was superb as well as mine! I was extremely satisfied and cannot wait to go back to see Colin for another tattoo and Tera for her professionalism with customer service!

Had two tattoos done here was very happy at first but once healed I noticed a bunch of mistakes. My simple kids drawings and the artist didn't even stay inside the lines. I gave 3 stars just cause she didn't get the chance to fix them. The sad thing is her portfolio is awesome so i think bringing her a simple tattoo and it coming out the way it did was cause she just rushed the heck out of it and that is why it looks nothing like what's in her portfolio :( not smooth lines, not smooth shading, and not inside the lines. Very disappointing. And I searched through many artists and picked her cause her portfolio.

I love my tattoo. The shop was neat and orderly, smelled clean, and everyone there seemed passionate and knowledgable. Overall very pleasant and smooth experience. 10/10, would definitely come back.

Piercing Review: Absolutely phenomenal! I found Black Rose online and came in to get my conch pierced at a large gauge during the Winter of 2013. Theo did it for me, and although I was beyond nervous, he made me feel comfortable and at ease. He was very informative and thorough. The shop is really clean and he talked me through the procedure and made sure I was happy with everything. I loved the experience. My BF also got an eyebrow and a conch piercing done with Theo and they look amazing. The placement is perfect. We love all our new mods. I kind of wish I still lived in Tucson so I can get more work by him! Maybe next time I'm in town for a visit. Love this place. Thanks, Theo. : )

When I went for my first session, the shop was clean, the vibe was peaceful, and all the staff were professional. I thought the atmosphere was great! Everyone was extremely nice. I went in to get a tattoo and piercing... ended up changing my mind on which tattoo I was getting and Harry was great and understanding. I was going to get my tongue pierced but was told it wouldn't work in the center so he gave me other options and was so great about making it an enjoyable experience because I was pretty nervous. Really loved everyone in the shop and I would definitely be making it my regular shop if I lived here. Wish I could take them back to Wyoming!

This review is for Honeycomb Jewelry and Piercing (inside of Black Rose Tattoo) specifically. I got my bridge pierced here and it was by far the best piercing experience I've had in Tucson! My piercer, Newt, was great. He took extra care to make sure my piercing would be perfectly centered and straight, and was so kind, gentle, and informative throughout the whole process. He was very thorough in explaining aftercare as well. The shop is clean, and they have a great jewelry selection. I could not be happier with my bridge and will definitely be returning and recommending this shop to everyone! Thank you so much Newt and the rest of the crew at Honeycomb. :)

I would definitely recommend Theo for your piercings!! I really like that he kept me informed about everything that was going on during the piercing experience. It made me feel more comfortable and safe! He really seemed like he knew what he was doing too. His piercing placement was great, and he was receptive of my own opinions as well. He also let me know the consequences of each option so that I could make a better informed decision. Also, the shop was well decorated and very clean! I'd definitely come back for another piercing from Theo! :)

Today I had my second lobes pierced at another shop and about 3 hours later realized they were irritating and not comfortable for my ears )): Walked into Honeycomb Jewelry & Piercing (inside Black Rose Tattooer) on 4th Ave and was helped by the very kind Amri who took the time to explain the different jewelry, and sizing on my fresh pierced ears. She changed my ear piercing to the new selection— and she was gentle, sweet, and prompt! Also she helped explain the aftercare process for healing. First, Tera was the sweetest person on the phone, first time inquiring about a tattoo in Tucson and she thoroughly explained to me how to make an appointment and which artist would be the best at my tattoo type requested. I messaged Colin and he got back to me right away with a next day for my daughter and I. Next day, Tera let us in and was sooooo kind and made us both feel so welcomed. She joined and laughed with us and made our wait time feel like nothing at all. Colin got our designed done really fast and it was perfect! Got my daughter in first and was very quick and proficient and the line work was superb as well as mine! I was extremely satisfied and cannot wait to go back to see Colin for another tattoo and Tera for her professionalism with customer service!

Had two tattoos done here was very happy at first but once healed I noticed a bunch of mistakes. My simple kids drawings and the artist didn't even stay inside the lines. I gave 3 stars just cause she didn't get the chance to fix them. The sad thing is her portfolio is awesome so i think bringing her a simple tattoo and it coming out the way it did was cause she just rushed the heck out of it and that is why it looks nothing like what's in her portfolio :( not smooth lines, not smooth shading, and not inside the lines. Very disappointing. And I searched through many artists and picked her cause her portfolio.

Swung by for a walk-in tattoo. Guy at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. I ended up getting Danny as my artist, and he was phenomenal. Very clean lines, gentle hand, and totally friendly. I love my tattoo. The shop was neat and orderly, smelled clean, and everyone there seemed passionate and knowledgable. Overall very pleasant and smooth experience. 10/10, would definitely come back.

Piercing Review: Absolutely phenomenal! I found Black Rose online and came in to get my conch pierced at a large gauge during the Winter of 2013. Theo did it for me, and although I was beyond nervous, he made me feel comfortable and at ease. He was very informative and thorough. The shop is really clean and he talked me through the procedure and made sure I was happy with everything. I loved the experience. My BF also got an eyebrow and a conch piercing done with Theo and they look amazing. The placement is perfect. We love all our new mods. I kind of wish I still lived in Tucson so I can get more work by him! Maybe next time I'm in town for a visit. Love this place. Thanks, Theo. : )

I saw Julia for a large chest piece. She took care to listen to what I wanted, and put all the features together to make a great drawing. When I went for my first session, the shop was clean, the vibe was peaceful, and all the staff were professional. Tattoos are more about the artist than the place, but I'd definitely take a look at Julia and the other artists at Black Rose.

The shop staff are jolly souls who made me feel at home- they are something hard to find today- honestly nice unpretentious people. Think kitchen table. Think barber shop. Danny is a master; this was tattoo #7 for me and his talent and suggestions helped to pull off,with glorious results, ink with the finest lines I've seen in my experience and colors that would make Van Gogh go crazy again. The rest of the staff were great to.I felt comfortable, and Sharon has an extremely light hand, pays a tremendous amount of attention to detail... And she's not painful to the eyes either.
