    Pain is really relative. Everyone has a different pain tolerance. However, we are not going to joke with you - it really hurts. Just not much. Some compare it to the "feeling of a hot scratch". But people wont come back for tattoo after tattoo if it hurts that much. Most of us dont get hurt, but the beauty of the tattoo and the pride that comes with wearing it far outweighs the pin stick here and there.How about using some kind of anesthetic cream? Such products are really not recommended.

  • How Much Is It Going to Cost?

    When it comes to tattoos, you get what you pay for. Yes, there are many people who get tattoos for a very small fee. But look for quality and be prepared to pay for it. Never bargain over the price of a tattoo. This is disrespectful to the artist. Think of it this way: its a work of art that youll wear for the rest of your life.

  • Should I Tip My Tattoo Artist?

    Tipping is a very nice gesture. But there are no real hard and fast rules for tipping.

  • What Should I Get? And Where?

    Its all a matter of personal taste. You can get whatever you want and whatever your artist is willing to do. You can choose a painting from the wall or have them create a custom piece just for you. The only limit is your own imagination. As for where you should do it, just keep in mind what you do at work and what social circle you are in. You may want to place your tattoo somewhere where it can be easily hidden by regular clothing.

  • What Is the Best Time of Year to Get a Tattoo?

    While you can get a tattoo at any time of the year, your skin is much more exposed in the summer due to swimming, sunbathing, and just more exposure to the elements. Winter time is really the best time for a tattoo.

  • Is It OK to Get a Tattoo if Im Sick?

    Getting a tattoo when your immune system isnt at 100% isnt the best idea. Youll need your strength and white blood cells to heal the tattoo, and your body wont be able to do that if its already fighting viruses and bacteria. Not to mention, its very imprudent to bring your disease into a tattoo studio and risk passing germs on to others, especially your artist. If you have an appointment, call and reschedule until you feel well again.

  • Where Can I Find Pictures of Tattoos?

    If youre getting a tattoo, especially as an expression of your personality, why would you want the same tattoo as someone else? Instead, find other images of what youre looking for and let your artist draw a custom design for you. Example: If you want to get a tattoo of a penguin standing on a glacier, find real photos of penguins and glaciers. If you want a blue rose tattoo wrapped around a cross, find images of real roses and crosses that you like. If the images dont show exactly what you want, just take them to your artist to use as a guide and tell them what changes you want to make to the original images. A true artist will gladly accept the challenge of creating an individual work.

I was hesitant to go here after seeing pictures of other work done, not because they weren’t good, but because it didn’t look anything like i’d planned on getting. All of staff were very friendly and made sure you had everything you needed. It’s the type of place you walk in and immediately feel like you can speak openly about what you are looking to get done without judgement. They were super fast to get us in, especially as walk ins, and for a great price. Mario did mine and my sister’s tattoos and they turned out even better than we expected. He took his time making sure the stencil sizing and placement were just how I wanted it and didn’t throw a fit when he had to go back down and add length to it. When I say Mario puts 110% into his work, HE DOES. While tattooing, he checked in and made sure I was comfortable. 11/10 recommend Hold Fast to anyone looking for a piercing or tattoo. I can assure you that whoever you get as your artist will do an outstanding job on whatever you decide. Will definitely be going back!

He was super chill and even though all i really knew was that i wanted a jalopeño tattoo, he asked me to think about it and google some pictures and get back to him. He sketched up the idea that i came up with, hooked me up with some numbing cream during the process, and a saniderm patch to protect it for a few days afterwards, and i think it came out amazing. Thanks for working with me on this!

Excellent Hosts! We were there for a guest artist, Johnny Mac out of Albuquerque, NM. The staff all the way from the top to all the artists treated my wife and I like we were their best customers. I can't thank them enough for their hospitality!! You guys ROCK! We got to see a lot of the work coming out from the artists. They do great work. The place was super clean, all care was taken with our safety. Thank you again for allowing us to get tattooed in your establishment!

I went to get my belly pierced about a year ago and I am pretty sure the piercers name was nikki. She pierced my belly and asked if the placement was good, I told her it was a little high so she moved it barely. She told me it was good so I trusted her because she is the professional. It never healed and I go to another piercer to get a different piercing so I told them about my belly not healing and they tell me to take it out immediately because it is done wrong. A waste of $50. Very upsetting :)

Mario did incredibly detailed beautifully executed ravens memorializing my mother's life on my two daughters and Gage did mine with extreme talent and ease .We are all so happy and grateful to have had this experience at holdfast and do highly recommend that you use them for your tattooing needs. Great art, bad service. Gage gave my GF a great walk-in tattoo, but he led me on and blew me off all day. He kept telling me he'd take care of my tattoo ... after this one guy ... no more than an hour ... I'll call you when I'm ready ... after this cigarette ... but after I waited 10 minutes for Gage to finish his cigarette I went down into the shop and found him drawing someone else's tattoo! He gave me some runaround about how this client had put down a deposit or something, and I was really frustrated about being blown off from 1pm to 9pm so I left without getting my tattoo. I was really disappointed. Don't count on being seen if you're a walk-in (and a guy), Gage kept letting people ahead of me and led me on like I would be helped all day.

He did a great job of making sure we were comfortable, took his time, and the pieces turned out fantastic! My wife and I decided to get tattoos to celebrate our second anniversary, we were walk-ins. Tony was our artist, he drew up our idea, discussed size and placement, and did a fantastic job. He did a great job of making sure we were comfortable, took his time, and the pieces turned out fantastic! I would highly recommend him and this tattoo studio to anyone in the area looking to have work done!

All of staff were very friendly and made sure you had everything you needed. It’s the type of place you walk in and immediately feel like you can speak openly about what you are looking to get done without judgement. They were super fast to get us in, especially as walk ins, and for a great price. Mario did mine and my sister’s tattoos and they turned out even better than we expected. He took his time making sure the stencil sizing and placement were just how I wanted it and didn’t throw a fit when he had to go back down and add length to it. When I say Mario puts 110% into his work, HE DOES. While tattooing, he checked in and made sure I was comfortable. 11/10 recommend Hold Fast to anyone looking for a piercing or tattoo. I can assure you that whoever you get as your artist will do an outstanding job on whatever you decide. Will definitely be going back!

He was super chill and even though all i really knew was that i wanted a jalopeño tattoo, he asked me to think about it and google some pictures and get back to him. He sketched up the idea that i came up with, hooked me up with some numbing cream during the process, and a saniderm patch to protect it for a few days afterwards, and i think it came out amazing. Thanks for working with me on this!

I can't thank them enough for their hospitality!! You guys ROCK! We got to see a lot of the work coming out from the artists. They do great work. The place was super clean, all care was taken with our safety. Thank you again for allowing us to get tattooed in your establishment!

I went to get my belly pierced about a year ago and I am pretty sure the piercers name was nikki. She pierced my belly and asked if the placement was good, I told her it was a little high so she moved it barely. She told me it was good so I trusted her because she is the professional. It never healed and I go to another piercer to get a different piercing so I told them about my belly not healing and they tell me to take it out immediately because it is done wrong. A waste of $50. Very upsetting :)

Mario did incredibly detailed beautifully executed ravens memorializing my mother's life on my two daughters and Gage did mine with extreme talent and ease .We are all so happy and grateful to have had this experience at holdfast and do highly recommend that you use them for your tattooing needs. Great art, bad service. Gage gave my GF a great walk-in tattoo, but he led me on and blew me off all day. He kept telling me he'd take care of my tattoo ... after this one guy ... no more than an hour ... I'll call you when I'm ready ... after this cigarette ... but after I waited 10 minutes for Gage to finish his cigarette I went down into the shop and found him drawing someone else's tattoo! He gave me some runaround about how this client had put down a deposit or something, and I was really frustrated about being blown off from 1pm to 9pm so I left without getting my tattoo. I was really disappointed. Don't count on being seen if you're a walk-in (and a guy), Gage kept letting people ahead of me and led me on like I would be helped all day.
